From Montenerodomo to Gamberale
From Largo XXV Aprile in Montenerodomo, following the SP132 southward, you exit the village. At the bend you turn left towards Marangola and after 100 metres, keep to the right at the fork. You follow on Via Verdi to reach Belvedere Square, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sangro valley on one side, and on the Aventino on the other. Continue your walk on Via Brigata Maiella up to where you cross the SP132, which you walk for a further 100 metres southward to then leave it by turning right at the fork. From here you walk for 1.6km and , once you get to the fork, you can then choose if keeping right for 2 km on a panoramic path or by turning left to join the trail after just 700 metres, at the end of which you turn left once again.
. Leaving Lago Saraceno di Montenerodomo behind you , proceed for 900 Metres until you arrive at a crossroads where you turn left. From here you can proceed heading towards Pizzoferrato (1251 Metres), and after passing the Contrade Fortunati and Casale Greci, you arrive in the town. From San Rocco Square you walk on Corso Garibaldi and begin to climb uphill on the rock, visit Santa Maria del Girone church and enjoy the view over the southern Majella and the Pizzi Mountains, across the Sangro Valley and the mountains of Molise. Back into the square, you go downhill towards the south-west on Via San Rocco, proceeding for 3 km on the SP 164 to Gamberale (1343 Metres). At the entrance of the town you will find San Lorenzo church and at the summit the medieval Castle and its tower.
